Conventions of a contents page

A contents page has alot of features to tell you whats in the magazine. It has page numbers along the side in a list, the reason for this is that you will know whats on what page. Like the front cover, the contents page also has pictures to show you whats invloved in the magazine. The colours are quite bright and easy to distinguish making it easier to read.

Conventions of a college magazine

A college magazine has a title, this is so people know what the magazine is called and have an idea of what genre it is. It has a picture in the middle to grab peoples attention. It also has sub-headings to inform you what else the magazine contains. The date will also be shown on the magazine so people can keep up to date with it. I think the target audience for the magazine is for teachers, i think this because of the layout of the magazine and its title 'Secondary teachers'.

Brief

Preliminary excercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.

Main Task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine. All images and text used must be original, produced by you - minimum of four images.

Presentation of your work:
